Warner Bros. has announced that Gotham Knights will no longer release on PS4 and Xbox One.
The news came with a new gameplay walkthrough that showcases Nightwing and Red Hood.
On the Gotham Knights website, Warner Bros. said that the last-gen versions of the game were cancelled “to provide players with the best possible experience”.
This announcement shortly follows an update to the game’s PlayStation Store page that added 4-player co-op support, but this has since been reverted to only 2-player co-op.
Gotham Knights is being developed by Warner Bros. Montreal, which is the same studio behind Batman: Arkham Origins.
The open-world action RPG was initially set to launch in 2021 but was delayed to allow the developers more time to polish and fine-tune the gameplay.
Gotham Knights lets you play as either Red Hood, Nightwing, Robin, or Batgirl to protect Gotham City from being dominated by its criminal underbelly after Batman’s death.
The game does not occur in the same universe as the Arkham series and will feature combat designed around co-op.
Gotham Knights will release on 25 October for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
