Fable tech-director resigns from Lionhead

22 June 2011

Simon Carter, the lead technical director for the Fable series, has decided to leave Lionhead Studios.

Along with his brother Dene Carter, he will be forming a new team focussed on producing digitally distributed titles for PC and console.

Simon Carter has worked with Lionhead’s founder and development guru Peter Molyneux for over a decade. He was once part of the Bullfrog team that produced Dungeon Keeper. He was the co-founder of Lionhead satellite studio Big Blue Box.

Carter said the decision to leave was difficult but there are many new opportunities to pursue.

With a decade of development experience under his belt, we are looking forward to seeing what he produces for the digital download market.

At this point there’s no word on the name of the new company or what type of game their first title may be.
