The Fable brand has been all about the doggy until now, but Fable: The Journey apparently takes its own inspiration from Black & White’s gigantic creatures.
“There was a bond we built up over the course of that game, and a lot of it was about rewarding and punishing your creature,” Peter Molyneux tells Gaming Union. “People built up strong bonds with their creatures, and the one thing we learned from that is you’ve got to allow time for that bond to build up.”
And that time is exactly what the ‘Neux doesn’t have to show in brief gameplay demos – you’ll just have to take his word for it (uh-oh).
“I can’t give you five minutes of gameplay and expect you to care about the horse, but within about two or three hours of [Fable: The Journey] you will start caring,” he says.
Not very much is actually known about the Kinect-supported Fable: The Journey just yet, although Molyneux has already declared the E3 demo a “horrendous mistake”. Not the most auspicious beginnings.
