SteamDB has released the top ten revenue games for Steam over the past week.
As always, this list is based exclusively on revenue and does not consider copies sold.
Likewise, due to the way Steam archives its data game with different purchasing options, such as collectors editions, a single game can hold multiple positions as each version is listed separately.
Below are the top ten for the week of 12 June.
10. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty is one of the most well-known and successful fps franchises ever released, so with its pre-orders now open on Steam, seeing it here is not shocking.
This is especially true since both its pre-purchasing options – regular and Vault – cost over R1,000.
Called of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 comes out on 28 October 2022.
9. Stray
Stray manages to not only retain its presence in the top ten but rises one position from the previous week.
Set to release on 19 July 2022, Stray is an adventure game where players take the role of a stray cat as they explore a strange cyberpunk city and attempt to return home.
Stray has not yet been released and therefore has no User Review score.
8. The Quarry
The Quarry was released on 9 June and is the next title from the well-regarded developers of Until Dawn.
Like Until Dawn, players will make choices and follow the interconnecting stories of several different characters as they struggle to survive a night of horror.
The Quarry has a Mostly Positive user review score on Steam.
7. Sea of Thieves
Sea of Thieves is another returning title on the top ten and continues to sell well, no doubt thanks to its regular content releases.
In Sea of Thieves, players can sail the high seas and engage in piracy, treasure hunting and hunting sea monsters with other players online.
Sea of Thieves has a Very Positive user review score on Steam.
6. It Takes Two
It Takes Two increases its position from seventh to sixth this week.
The award-winning game features solid co-op gameplay that follows the charming adventure of a couple attempting to return to normal after being turned into toys.
It Takes Two has a Very Positive recent review score, and an Overwhelmingly Positive overall user review score on Steam.
5. Valve Index VR Kit
The Valve Index VR Kit is again in the top ten, having only dropped one position from last week.
The VR equipment bundle comes with Half-life: Alyx.
It isn’t currently available in South Africa.
4. Elden Ring
Elden Ring endures another week, dropping to fourth likely due to the appeal of the third title.
Assuming the past repeats itself, Elden Ring will no doubt maintain its fourth position for next week’s top ten, if not increase its ranking.
Elden Ring has a Very Positive user review score on Steam.
3. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 holds the third and tenth spots in this list.
This is likely due to the game’s broad appeal as a Call of Duty title and its high price tag on both its regular and Vault editions.
Unfortunately SteamDB doesn’t differentiate between the two versions so we can’t be certain which holds the third spot and which the tenth.

2. V Rising
V Rising holds its second-place position and will likely remain in the top ten next week.
The vampire survival game continues to impress with its enjoyable combat, base building and survival gameplay.
It has a Very Positive user review score on Steam.
1. Steam Deck
The Steam Deck once again maintains its first place spot.
The portable gaming PC from Valve is clearly very popular, which isn’t surprising given its growing roster of titles.
The Steam Deck is currently unavailable in South Africa.
