Resident Evil 2 Remake sells over 10 million copies

15 July 2022

Capcom has announced that its Resident Evil 2 remake has surpassed 10 million units sold worldwide.

This impressive milestone has been reached over three years after the remake’s release in January 2019 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

The game was also ported to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in June 2021, which helped the game achieve its milestone.

The Remake has received critical acclaim for offering an improved experience from the original game by using the latest technology and maximising the game’s immersive and dramatic story.

Sales have also been aided by the regular release of new content for the franchise, thanks to titles such as the Resident Evil 3 remaster and Resident Evil Village – both of which maintained the interest of longtime fans and attracted new players to the series.

A new Resident Evil series is now on Netflix, which has also drawn attention to the famous gaming franchise.

Resident Evil 2 was first released in 1998 and is often considered a horror genre classic.

The Resident Evil 2 Remake is currently on sale for 60% off on Steam.
