Next Xbox Game Pass Ultimate upgrade will take game streaming to the next level

11 August 2022

In a blog post, Microsoft revealed that later this year, they intend to roll out a new feature for Game pass Ultimate.

This new feature will allow players to stream from the cloud games they already own or purchased from outside the Xbox Game Pass library.

In 2019 Xbox indicated their plans to bring this feature to the fore by 2020. However, nothing came of this announcement.

However, given the time since the first announcement, the feature may roll out by the end of this year.

This is also supported by several instances of non-Game Pass games recently appearing with Xbox Cloud Gaming logos – these titles include Elden Ring, Red Dead Redemption 2, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and Dark Souls 3.

Twitter user Knoebel concisely outlined the discoveries in a Tweet.

Should this feature be released, it will herald a substantial change for gamers, allowing for a degree of flexibility that has never been seen before.

An exact date has not been released beyond the end of the year.
