Rumour control: Limbo might be prepping for a PSN launch

30 June 2011

PlayStation 3 owners should get ready to die a thousand deaths, because if a ratings filing by Sony Computer Entertainment Korea is anything to go on (and these things usually are) it looks like XBLA cult darling Limbo is headed your way. Along with a lot of spiders and buzzsaws and fathomless abysses of death. It’s like Christmas came early this year.

The news follows recent rumours of the terminally creepy platformer seeing a Steam release, although this has yet to be confirmed one way or the other.
Limbo was originally released on the Xbox LIVE Arcade just about a year ago, and was instantly the love of everybody’s lives (since Braid, anyway, but the timing was just all wrong with that one).

The game has maintained a not inconsiderable average of 90 on Metacritic since then, and was the “number one Summer of Arcade game by a long stretch”, according to Microsoft’s Phil Spencer. The game was also recently listed as the 11th highest-selling title on XBLA, and that many people can’t be wrong.
