Limbo officially confirmed for PSN, Steam release

1 July 2011

Following recent rumours after a Korean ratings filing for the game, developer Playdead has officially confirmed that, yes, Limbo will be doing its spooky thing on the PlayStation Network and Steam sometime “very soon”.

“This might be the second time around we have been waiting for,” Playdead CEO Dino Patti tells Joystiq, in reference to a quote from last year, saying “You won’t see a PS3 or PC version this time around.”

“Limbo is in production for Steam and PSN, and is coming very soon,” he adds.

The same team will be handling both ports.

Experts agree that Limbo is one of the finest indie titles ever, including MyGaming’s own expert (me). In my review, I summed up the one-of-a-kind platformer as “the must-play XBLA title of the year, and almost certainly the best Xbox exclusive on the service”. And now everybody else can play nice with gigantic shadow spiders too.
