Okay, actually the Call of Duty XP event sounds kind of amazing

3 August 2011

Whatever you’ve got planned for 2 and 3 September, it’s not going to be as cool as this – Activision’s dropped some official intel about the upcoming Call of Duty XP event in Los Angeles, and there’s simply no denying this is THE place to be that weekend.

Obviously, there’s the obligatory live tourney, with the top eight teams splitting $1 million cash monies between themselves.

But wait, there’s more – every attendee will receive a voucher for the Modern Warfare 3 Hardened Edition, which is a pretty sweet deal.

But wait, there still more! Check out this list of activities and features:

•    A paintball firefight across a life-size replica of Modern Warfare 2′s Scrapyard level.
•    The opportunity to speed-run the infamous Modern Warfare 2 The Pit training sequence, for real.
•    A military-style zip-line plunge across the Call of Duty XP compound.
•    Suiting up for one-on-one battle in Juggernaut Sumo.
•    Rations and refreshment for sale at Modern Warfare’s 2 iconic Burgertown fast food joint.
•    A comprehensive Call of Duty armory and museum, featuring concept art and unique memorabilia from the entire franchise.

Okay, I stopped paying attention at “paintball firefight across a life-size replica of Modern Warfare 2′s Scrapyard level”, because whatever came after that is irrelevant. It doesn’t matter how much you love Battlefield 3 forever and ever (and ever, even though you’ve not actually played it yet), if you don’t want to play paintball on a life-size replica of MW2’s Scrapyard, you have no soul.

No soul.
