Steam Quakecon sale: big deals on id and Bethesda titles

5 August 2011

Looks like Steam uses pretty much anything as an excuse to throw a bargain-party, and this weekend’s Quakecon 2011 event in Texas is the latest.

There’s a massive heap of stuff going on the cheap, but probably the most impressive of these is the Quakecon Pack 2011, featuring 34 id and Bethesda games and DLC add-ons for the low, low price of $69.99 (around R480 or so).

That’s an epic-class savings of 86%.

There are a bunch of other spending incentives floating around for the duration of this deal. If you preorder RAGE, the Quakecon Pack is reduced by a further 30%. Alternatively, if you pre-order The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the Quakecon Pack price is reduced by 20%.

From what we at MyGaming can fathom, Steam is a bit confused as to how much the total saving will be. Their news update from 4 August claims a total of 40% saving if both titles are pre-ordered, however, it also claimed a 20% saving percent for the titles individually, as they pertain to the Quakecon Pack. The Quakecon Day 1 sale page tells a different story however; the 30% / 20% spilt as mentioned above.

Does this mean the Quakecon Pack will be reduced by a total of 50%? We don’t know!

Anyway, the pack includes BRINK, Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition, Fallout New Vegas and all its add-ons, Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, Morrowind and Oblivion, the Quake and DOOM series, and… Commander Keen.

The sale will be running until Sunday, 7 August 2011, with different special deals each day, so make sure to keep checking – that Valve Complete Pack has to turn up again some time.
