Bastion PC release date announced

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Supergiant Games have announced that Bastion, the award-winning indie Action-RPG recently released on Xbox LIVE Arcade, is coming to Windows PC on August 16th.

The game will feature high-resolution graphics and an all-new PC control scheme. It is currently available for pre-order on Steam for US$14.99, before becoming available on other popular PC portals later in August.

Bastion has earned numerous accolades for its unique atmosphere and narrative style, deep yet accessible combat, and distinctive presentation. The game received ten E3 2011 awards, including the Game Critics Award for Best Downloadable Game, Game Informer Magazine’s award for Best Downloadable Game, and G4tv.com’s award for Most Original Game.

The PC version of Bastion will be available DRM-free and includes Steamworks support for Cloud saves, achievements, and leaderboards.

Featuring lush and imaginative artwork in full 1080p resolution, as well as an innovative reactive narration system that responds to players’ actions in real time, the game challenges players to build a new world after a cataclysmic event shatters the land to pieces. As players journey into the wild unknown, they will confront savage beasts, forge an array of customisable weapons and gain new powers from specially-brewed spirits as they become immersed in the game’s rich atmosphere.

Gameplay is designed to reward player skill, offering great customisation including the new re-mappable PC control scheme. Bastion for PC will also support gamepad controllers.
