The Minecraft version 1.8 “Adventure Update” is out this week (8 September, more or less, pending the successful completion of some “crucial work”), and to celebrate the impending arrival of raw chicken and an inevitable salmonella holocaust, here’s a couple of new trailers.
The update features heaps of new stuff, including new crafting recipes, a new Creative Mode, new mobs, new biomes, new combat mechanics and critical hits, randomly generated dungeons, NPC villages, and a multiplayer server list, as well as loads of fixes and whatnot.
Minecraft will be officially all grown up over 18-19 November, with the first ever MineCon event happening in Las Vegas, featuring:
• Official Minecraft launch
• Keynote speeches (including one by our very own Notch)
• Build contests
• Breakout classes with all different Minecraft topics
• Costume contests
• Exhibits by leading gaming and Minecraft related companies
• Meeting friends from around the world
• Commemorative merchandise
