The Witcher 3 confirmed (pretty much)

12 September 2011

In a sure-fire indication that CDProjekt RED is gearing up to start development on The Witcher 3, the developer has posted a listing for a variety of roles within the team.

The role specifically states that it is looking for applicants from all over the world, and is even offering “Help getting established in Warsaw”, so if you’re reading this and you rate your game dev skills, then check out the full posting.

Furthermore, in an interview with the-witcher.de, developer Jan Bartkowicz has confirmed that the third Witcher game is inevitable. EMGN has kindly translated a portion of the interview:

(Translated) “That’s a good question. Well, I think the problem that some people have is the overall impression. The first part could just as easily be a stand-alone, while the second part of a planned trilogy is now time, logically, have a very open end of the third part has to go. Consider this example for comparison to films like Pirates of the Caribbean, where the first part one self-contained story has, the later is unchangeable, but then you think, it should be a trilogy. So people have a problem then. The end of The Witcher 2 is the beginning of much larger events, while The Witcher one rather a cliffhanger ending was.”
