Hot on the muddy, battered, and probably slightly burned heels of the recent Adventure Update, Mojang’s Markus “Notch” Persson has dropped some details about the next version update, which apparently features a new mob of “ridiculously suicidal” Snow Golems.
Being made of, well, snow, the craftable Snow Golems will leave a trail of snowy stuff in their wake, and melt in hot biomes.
They’ll also lob snowballs at your enemies, so they’re good to have around.
“The snowmen are ridiculously suicidal,” said Notch over Twitter, “throwing snowballs at creepers and spiders, annoying them to attack the snowmen. It’s funny.”
No word on when the update will be out, but Notch says that he’s “fixed a few annoying lighting bugs, like fences under walls and such. We’re hoping (HOPING!) to release something tomorrow.”
The full version of Minecraft is scheduled to launch on PC in November 2011, and on some as yet unconfirmed date on the Xbox LIVE Arcade.
