Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s new Arsenal modes revealed

22 September 2011

Valve has 2-upped with a bunch of Counter-Strike mod community people to reinvent the FPS’s much loved Gun Game mode.

The result? Something called Arsenal, that’s coming in two variants – Arms Race and Demolition.

The original Gun Game mode has players starting off with a basic loadout, which is upgraded as they bag frags.

Arsenal mode will also introduce eight new maps to the game’s roster, in addition to the seven “classic” maps that are already included in the default lists (that’s Aztec, Dust, Dust2, Inferno, Italy, Nuke, and Office).

“We are excited that Valve reached out and is working with us to ensure Arsenal Mode is the best version of Gun Game,” said Michael Barr, one of the creators on the original Gun Game Source mod project.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is set to launch on PC, Mac, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade sometime in early 2012, and also features cross-platform play between PC and PS3.
