EA and Klei Entertainment have announced that, yes, Shank is getting a sequel, and yes, it’s going to be even better than the first one.
A former mob hitman’s work is never done, apparently, although I suppose it’s not the sort of career you just quit without some serious repercussions.
Mom told him to stay in college and get that nice business science degree, but would he listen? Tsk.
“After a year of production, we’re finally able to announce… Shank 2! As some of you may know, our team at Klei risked everything to build Shank 1. We threw our life savings and risked our mortages in the project, and to say that we’re happy that you supported us in our endeavor is an amazing understatement,” writes Klei’s press drone over on the official Shank site.
“Shank 2 is the best thing that Klei has done to date: we didn’t want to just “build more Shank”, we redesigned all the underlying systems to give you twice the fidelity and far more control over our favorite stabbing man.”
The game is scheduled to launch on PC, Xbox, and PS3 in early 2012.
