FNB has launched a Super Mario Brother “Kruger Gold Rush” online game on Facebook.
In the game you play Mario Paul Kruger, who is tasked with collecting gold coins collecting Krugerrand coins and completing the current level before the time limit runs out.
Did I mention the plumbing pipes mine shafts you can go down to collect extra Krugerrands?
Shameless Super Mario Bros clone aside, the game is fairly basic yet pretty addictive at the same time, and is about as entertaining as a Facebook game can be.
The real kicker though: each week the person sitting at the top of the leader board wins a real Krugerrand (its solid gold and worth a lot of money).
The competition will run for 6 weeks, with week one being a dedicated practise week before things get serious.
Week two begins on October 10, with the final week concluding on November 11.
The prize denominations for each week are:
• Week 2 = 1/10 ounce
• Week 3 = ¼ ounce
• Week 4 = ½ ounce
• Week 5 = 1 full ounce
• Week 6 = 2 x 1full ounce
To put things into perspective, at the time of publication a full ounce Krugerrand retails for over R14,400.00 on the FNB online banking website.
Now who says gaming doesn’t pay?
