Not only are 2-year-olds downloading more apps and games, but it seems that people in general over in the US are also spending more on digital products – according to yet another report released today.
According to the NPD’s Games Industry: Total Consumer Spend report, for the second quarter of this year the American public has spent approximately $1,74 billion on digital products; that’s full games, DLC, mobile apps, rentals – you name it.

Add to this the $1,44 billion spent on physical products and over $1 billion on hardware and accessories – and the games industry generated about $4.5 billion in revenue for Q2 – more than the same time last year.
Interpretation: people are still buying a lot of physical products, but digital purchases are on the way up; point is – people are buying, and buying a lot.
