We’re obviously all terribly excited about Battlefield 3’s multiplayer component. After all, cutting edge graphics and physics, 64 player maps, jets, and Battlefield’s beloved Rush mode – which is arguably the coolest thing to ever happen to multiplayer first person shooters – what’s not to be excited about?
Having said that, the game will also ship with a single player campaign.
DICE producer Patrick Liu has said that the Battlefield 3 single player campaign will be about six or seven hours long, which is not terrible for a first person shooter these days.
Of course there is also the separate co-op campaign, which Liu says “is story driven but not the same story as the single player, but there is a lot of stuff that is related like the locations. The missions are made specifically for the co-op.”
Battlefield 3 is out on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on 28 October, 2011.
