Mass Effect 3 features almost twice as much dialogue as Mass Effect 2

13 October 2011

Mass Effect 3’s audio lead Rob Blake has revealed via twitter that the game will boast 40,000 lines of recorded dialogue, which is twice as much dialogue as there was in Mass Effect, and almost twice as much as there was in Mass Effect 2.

The revelation came about after a fan expressed concern on twitter over the consistency of Shepard’s voice in Mass Effect 3. Black responded saying “We do our best to keep consistency but it’s tough with 40,000 lines!”

Apparently the team has developed “new techniques” for Mass Effect 3 which should make sure that the voice work is consistent.

Mass Effect 3 will wrap up Commander Shepard’s story, and it will be influenced by decisions players made in the previous games.

One of the big talking points is the changes which have reportedly been made to combat, with melee skills making an appearance along side more conventional grenades and improved AI.

Multiplayer has also been confirmed for Mass Effect 3.

Mass Effect 3 is due out on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on 6 March, 2012.
