Bethesda squashes Doom 4 delay rumour

22 October 2011

Just yesterday, we reported the rumour that Bethesda was delaying Doom 4 indefinitely as a result of a shaky RAGE release.

However, now that Tarryn has gotten you (and your toys) all riled up, allow me to talk you down from the ledge.

Pete Hines, Bethesda’s VP of PR and Marketing, has succinctly described the rumour as “complete bollocks”.

After telling Eurogamer that Bethesda “doesn’t comment on rumour or speculation”, they went on to do just that in replying to Eurogamer Operations Director Tom Bramwell’s tweet.

Aside from assuring everyone that the rumour is “bollocks”, Hines went on to explain, “Re: Doom 4 rumour, games are done when they are done and no title under development at id has been postponed – indefinitely or otherwise.”

Looks like the toys can be kept inside the cot for a little longer, unless you’d like to just fall back on the old RAGE standby and toss them at John Carmack anyway.
