Valve is notorious for keeping things tightly under wraps, and you’re usually only going to know about something when Valve wants you to.
They’re so good at this, they’ve almost gotten to the point where people have forgotten that Half Life: Episode 3 even exists (if you’re reading this Gabe, I haven’t).
The mighty overlords have seen fit to bestow upon us some epic Portal 2 news however, in the form of a DLC announcement.
This isn’t just any DLC; it looks like we’re finally getting what we’ve always wanted since we first began leaping through coloured ovals – the ability to create our own levels.

According to the announcement, this will come in the form of “an easy-to-use in-game map editor that will let users design, build and share their own single-player and co-op test chambers with the community.”
Valve also makes mention of the fact that you’ll be able to vote for your favourite levels, which indicates that Valve will most likely be capitalizing on Portal’s potential with multiple community features.
The DLC is due early next year, so you can start drawing up your blueprints in the meantime.
