Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has already been pirated, and copies are in circulation, according to a report over on VentureBeat. Pretend to be really surprised.
The article alleges that the second of the two-disc PC set was removed from a shipping warehouse in California, and copies of this have been distributed – although no sources are cited for this, and considering the PC version of the game uses Steamworks and remains locked until launch day, I can’t work out what anybody’s actually going to do with it.
The article also mentions a Craigslist posting where somebody claims to have landed in trouble for playing the game.
“If u buy modern warfare before release date you will be fined $5000 and court cost permanent suspention from online play and more so don’t buy that sh**. i already went thru it…[sic]”
