Resident Evil Chronicles HD coming to PS3

31 October 2011

Capcom has announced they’re bringing Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles and Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles over to PS3, in a new, Move-supported, future-ready Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Selection bundle.

Both games were previously released for the Wii, back in 2007 and 2009 respectively, and fill the gaps in between other Resident Evil titles with – what else? – on-rails shooting action and hilariously bad dialogue.

No launch date or pricing has been confirmed, and for the moment, it’s not clear whether this collection will see a release outside of Japan.

The company also recently announced that its next Resident Evil spin-off, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, would be deployed Stateside for PS3 and Xbox in March 2012, with a PC and European launch to follow on “TBA”.

The special edition will include a steel book with exclusive artwork, stylised foil sleeve, Umbrella Security Service embroidered patch, Spec Ops Field Unit embroidered patch, and eight bonus weapons.
