After a tactical deployment failure yesterday, the Gears of War 3 Horde Command DLC is live, loud, and – scandal! – actually already on your game disc.
Don’t think of it as a con, think of it as a hot savings on your time and bandwidth.
The add-on includes three new maps, a bunch of new fortification upgrades and whatnot for Horde mode, new characters and weapon skins, and new Achievements totalling 250 Gamerscore.
BOOM!

If paying for that stuff doesn’t sound like a good idea to you, then simply wait a bit – Epic has also announced that they’ll be putting out a free “Versus Booster Map Pack” later this month, which includes the three maps from this DLC (minus all the other goodies, of course), as well as two maps making a big comeback from the first game, Swamp and Clocktower.
GRIND!
It’s scheduled to drop on 24 November, which is not-so-coincidentally also Thanksgiving Day in Yankeedoodleland.
According to Epic, the freebie DLC is to “give thanks” to fans for supporting the game.
SNIFF!
