Boom.
Look at it; familiarise yourself with it – because this is going to be huge.
If you were reading our coverage of the possible “leaked” info surrounding GTA V with a salivating hunger for more – then you need not wait any longer, for the Grand Theft Auto Trailer is right here.
And there you have it.
Now you can already tell that there are a few things that leaves the rumour mill posted earlier up in the air.
Most obvious, the trailer isn’t the 1:04 that the supposed “source” said; and the rest of the rumours are conveniently broad and vague enough not to be debunked by what the trailer shows.
Also, assuming the narrator is the protagonist (which is a safe bet) – the rumour that “The protagonist is Hispanic and his name is Adrian” seems less plausable, as the narrator sounds FAR from Hispanic; at least in terms of the established over-the-top Rockstar parody universe, anyway.
You don’t see him, so we don’t rightly know.
So instead of fluffing up rumours – what we DO know, however, is this:
The game is taking place San Andreas, the GTA equivalent to California – you can tell from a lot of the landscape and city shots in trailer – most notably the windmill arrays, beach shots and a pretty telling VINEWOOD sign near the end.
But the number plates on the cars also say “San Andreas”.
Los Santos is definitely in, as we spotted one of the street signs behind the hobo labelled thusly – but my limited grasp of American landmarks and cultural nuances prevents me from speculating on whether San Fierro or Las Venturas are also making an appearance.

It also looks like it’s going to be more like GTA IV in terms of story-telling, with the presentation looking very cinematic and gritty – this is a goooood thing.
There are sexy cars on show; what looks to be a heist set – oh, and a fighter jet swooping through the city which we’ll safely bet on you being able to control at some point.
The game is looking FANtastic, let’s face it, those are some purdy graphics right there.
Best news of all?
The hookers are back!
Instantly sold.

Classy.
