What we’re playing this weekend (5-6 November 2011)

5 November 2011

Quinton Bronkhorst

This weekend I’m going to be playing Uncharted 3 without stopping. I might cosider going to the bathroom, but even then, these incontinence diapers I got last Christmas are really doing a good enough job, so I’ll likely forego bathroom breaks too. I’ve also started putting my food into a blender and liquidizing it – drinking is more efficient, and that way I can maximize my gaming time.

So, Battlefield 3, that game I was supposed to spend the entirety of last weekend playing… Yeah that didn’t happen. Not having touched it for over a week has become too much, so I’ll be locking myself in a room with Battlefield 3, along with piles of biltong and canned Cream Soda.

Tarryn van der Byl

It’s going to be a megamix of Battlefield 3 and the new Gears of War 3 DLC, with a bit of Batman: Arkham City in between. That’s the plan, anyway – I might just sleep all weekend instead. My Magic 8-Ball says “YES”, but I’m not quite sure which of those options it’s referring to.

Nic Simmonds

Annoying IRL commitments will be keeping my precious gaming time strapped thin this weekend. Between two birthday parties and a braai, I’m going to do my best to play as much of Battlefield 3’s multiplayer component as possible so that I can finish up my review for early next week. In case you missed my (controversial :O!) Battlefield 3 singleplayer review from this week, check it out here.

Chris Kemp

I’m about a week late, but this weekend I’ll hopefully be running around gleefully ventilating adolescents in Battlefield 3, after I wrestle the Origin store into submission of course. When I’m not doing that, I’ll be ploughing my way through Amnesia: The Dark Descent; I chickened out before the end on my last playthrough so I’ve got to go back and finish the job (after a trip to the ‘elderly supplies’ department for some adult diapers). Perhaps between my incontinence and wanton disregard of team objectives, I’ll squeeze in some indie appreciation.

Dan Parmenter

I’m catching up with friends and family this weekend after spending the last couple of weeks in Singapore. (I was expecting to come back with an extra suitcase filled with PS3 games but sadly booze was more expensive there than I’d anticipated.)

I will make some time to hunt for a few more Riddles in Arkham City though (read my review here), and hopefully get a crack at the excellent new PSN releases Sideways: New York and Costume Quest.

James Etherington-Smith

Another weekend with a defunct desktop PC as I wait for my new parts to arrive in stock. At least my laptop still loves me, and I can play Dungeon Defenders until my right index finger falls off.
