Modern Warfare 3 heist – 6,000 copies stolen

7 November 2011

News reports from le France have come in telling how approximately 6,000 video games – reported by French media to be Modern Warfare 3 – were stolen in a daring truck heist.

Apparently professional criminals drove into a truck that was delivering the games, and used tear gas to neutralize the driver and his passenger while they made off with an estimated 400,000 Euros-worth of Activision’s latest.

It all sounds very video-gamey, innit?

The plus side of this incident is that at least MW3 is getting more coverage – and that’s not bad for Activision at all.

In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if Activision were the ones behind the heist – after all, grabbing headlines based off of a bit of controversy isn’t exactly beneath them, right?

Modern Warfare 3 is releasing tomorrow, 8 November 2011, and is probably the biggest release for Activision this year.

Despite this incident, we’re pretty sure there are still more than enough copies to go around.
