Forza 4 November Speed Pack DLC review (Xbox 360)

7 November 2011

This is what Turn 10 and Microsoft does, oh so well. Whilst only being on the shelves for less than a month Forza Motorsport 4 has launched yet another DLC containing 10 “must have” vehicles. The November Speed Pack entices petrol heads with their latest 10 car, 1 event DLC.

Besides a new Rivals race, the cars included are:

•    2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4
•    2012 Aston Martin Virage
•    2011 #2 Audi Sport Team Joest R15++ TDI
•    2011 Audi RS3 Sportback
•    1957 Chevrolet Bel Air
•    2012 Dodge Charger SRT8
•    2011 Ferrari #62 Risi Competizione F458 Italia
•    2013 Ford Focus ST
•    1992 GMC Typhoon
•    2011 Volkswagen Scirocco R

Pros

This is how Forza remains to be one of the best of games on the market, by releasing new DLC’s at this rate; Forza keeps the game current, fresh and new. For a car pack that has 10 all new cars I found the download relatively small in size; only weighing a decent 109MB.

The November Speed Pack is a cleverly integrated DLC which sees cars featured in both online and offline race events with no bugs or lag evident. Unlike the Muscle Car Pack, I really enjoyed the variety of cars, ranging from a classic 1957 Bel Air to an insane 700hp Lambo. All tastes catered for.

Cons

It’s a pity no Autovista models or new race tracks were included this time around. Race specific events for each new car would have made the car pack more relevant and essential to the game. If you’re a casual racing enthusiast this car pack remains optional as the game still boasts a slew of new and current vehicles.

Conclusion

No Autovista cars also means that the download size remains lower, for example the Autovista 2012 BMW M5 alone is significantly higher at 370.93MB.

So at 560 MS Points (a little over R70) this DLC, in my opinion, is well worth the buy.

Note: A Season Pass costs 2400 MS Points which entitles you to six add-on car packs at 10 cars per pack and grants you the Muscle Car Pack for free and a more substantial long-term saving of 1520 MS Points.
