Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is out now, everywhere, and – perhaps predictably – the Call of Duty Elite online service is broken now, everywhere.
The problem? THERE ARE JUST TOO MANY OF YOU!
“We are aware of the issue,” reads a post over on the official Call of Duty Elite Twitter page. “Surge of new Elite registrations is creating reg & login issues. Teams are working now to increase capacity.”
Password errors are apparently related to this problem, so don’t worry about changing them.
The same Twitter stream also links to this page to “to stay updated on Elite’s launch status”, which hilariously returned a 404 error when I tried to load it.
“It’s difficult to launch not only a giant game like MW3 but a huge, scratch-built service like Elite simultaneously – and try to do it worldwide,” Activision community guy Dan Amrich writes over on the One of Swords blog.
“So, give ’em time, and don’t panic in the interim.”
