Somewhere, somehow, for some reason, the PS3 exclusive DLC for Saints Row: The Third promised back at E3 didn’t happen – but it’s all okay now because Sony and THQ are giving everybody who buys the game a free copy of Saints Row 2! Yay!
“At long last, THQ and our friends at PlayStation are proud to unveil additional content for Saints Row: The Third owners on PS3,” writes THQ communications manager Jon Miller on the PlayStation Blog in a totally convincing attempt at making it look like this was the real plan the whole time.
“For all players that purchase Saints Row: The Third on PlayStation 3 and redeem their online pass codes within the next 90 days, they will receive a digital copy of Saints Row 2 (a $19.99 value)… absolutely free!”
The game will be available to download “early next week”.
The offer apparently only applies to the States, Canada, and Mexico, though, so locals will probably have to use a bit of account subterfuge to take advantage of it.
