Until now, we’ve not been told very much much about THQ and Guillermo del Toro’s survival horror, inSANE, except that it’s “Lovecraftian”, “truly, truly entertaining”, and “full of action, but also a very shocking game”.

Now we can also add that it’s “really, really nasty”. This thing’s finally taking some shape, kind of. Like a… like a tentacle with a dagger or something.

“We’re being really, really nasty in the game. We’re really trying a lot of stuff that I don’t think would even fly in the movies,” del Toro told Collider.

Although he’s currently shooting a film, the director has weekly conference calls with the developers. “We exchange ideas about the design, the gameplay, about the models,” he said.

“It’s still two-and-a-half or three years away, though, because videogame development is so long.”

The more I read about this game, the more it sounds like that amazing thing me and my friends were totally going to make in high school, and talked about all the time, and made plans, and drew pictures, and made lists of stuff, and just never actually got around to making in the end.
