Razer has announced that they’ve delayed the launch of their new Razer Blade gaming notebook until next year, and totally ruined Christmas.
In a post over on the company’s Facebook page, Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan explained that the delay is due to the “world’s first true gaming laptop” switching its specs from a regular hard drive to a solid state hard drive, and presumably increasing its price-tag by quite a bit.
“Because we managed to upgrade the HDD to an SSD at the eleventh hour, we were only able to secure quantities of the new SSDs to arrive at our manufacturing facilities at the last minute and as a result, we will not be able to fulfill our initial launch orders of the Razer Blade before the holidays,” he wrote.
“We expect to be able to ship our initial quantities of the Razer Blade only in mid to late January for our customers in North America. We will be doing everything humanly possible to bring this date forward if we can.”
The notebook was originally supposed to ship before the end of this year, although with just over a week left, I’m not sure this news comes as a big shocker.
It’s not too late to ask Santa for a console instead.
