Sodium Overload 2012 – local fighting game tournament

GetHype has announced that in conjunction with LAGza, it will be hosting Sodium Overload 2012 – a dedicated fighting game tournament.

Sodium Overload will take place on Saturday, 28 January, and it will play host to both Tekken 6 and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournaments.

Entrance to Sodium Overload will cost R30, and includes the entry fee for both games. Players can play in either tournament, or both.

At the end of the day there will also be an exhibition match for the new King of Fighters XIII game. Participation will be open for all and is intended to gauge interest in the game for inclusion in future events.

The day will kick off with registrations from 9:30AM. Registrations will close at 11AM.

The first Marvel vs. Capcom matches will start at 11:30AM. The Marvel vs. Capcom tournament will continue up until the grand finals, at which point the Tekken 6 tournament will kick off. The grand finals for both take place at the end of the day.

Both tournaments will be follow a double elimination format (best of 3 rounds). The grand finals will be best of 5.

Second place: R600 AWX gift card sponsored by AWX.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 prizes
