Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw reveals game in development

10 January 2012

Arguably the most opinionated games reviewer in the world, Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw has announced that he is currently developing a game which he plans to release.

The game is called Poacher, and it will be free. It is a side-scroller that puts players in the polished boots of Yorkshire gentleman Derek Badger as he stumbles across a strange underground kingdom where he gets caught up in a conflict between two mysterious magical races.

“Sorry, I can’t say when it’ll be in a fit state for release. As I mentioned I’m waiting on some music, and I also need to get some proper focus testing done (don’t volunteer, it’s in hand). Also sorry it’s not a playable demo. Trust me, I hate game trailers too, but most of this one actually shows gameplay. Sorry, also, for using Times Roman as the font in it. I showed it to someone and they said that was a horrible choice of font but I couldn’t be bothered to go back to my source files,” reads the official blog post.

I love his reviews…but if I have to be honest this looks a little lame but since it’ll be free I try it none the less without breathing too often.
