Since its launch BioWare’s Star Wars themed MMORPG, Star Wars: The Old Republic, has been plagued with various performance issues. Various threads posted in the community forums have complained of low frame rates, memory leaks and other technical issues.

Community representative Arrthen has subsequently made a statement in the official forums:

“Our development team and our production team have been investigating this issue and we want to thank everyone who has posted constructively on this thread.”

“You’ve provided the development team with a basis for investigation into the low FPS issues, and with your help they have identified and are in the process of resolving the indoor framerate drop.”

The studio has promised to setup a detailed blog outlining possible fixes for some of the performance issues that many are facing. Until then, users who are having issues are advised to close down programs running in the background, turn down graphics settings and turn off “bloom” in the graphics options. Users are also advised to make sure they have the most up to date graphics drivers installed.
