The creative brain behind Assassin’s Creed: Revelations has announced his plans to leave Ubisoft to pursue a career in advertising.
Alexandre Amancio joined Ubisoft in 2005, where he also served as the art director for Far Cry 2.
He was only recently promoted to a creative lead position. He is the second creative lead to leave the franchise following the departure of Patrice Desilets, who left Ubisoft to work for THQ.
“Video games and advertising have many common elements,” said Amancio in a press release. “In both industries, we are always looking for new ways to engage the consumer to the brand.”
“In addition, like advertising, the video game industry must now take into account and supply a very important social dimension in its development and strategies. The game is no longer just a game, it’s a community, relations between players, and the brand. ”
Amancio is taking on a role as chief creative officer at Cossette, a marketing company based in Quebec, Canada.
