Play Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning demo, unlock stuff in Mass Effect 3

12 January 2012

EA has announced that the demos for fantasy RPG Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and sci-fi RPG Mass Effect 3 will each unlock bonus stuff in the other game.

I’m not sure how that works out in terms of official canon, but I suppose some rift in the time-space continuum just off the Kepler Verge could explain it.

If we can have a whole race of gigantic sentient robot-ships out to ruin humanity, I don’t think a cross-dimensional gate is all that unbelievable.

Finishing the Reckoning demo will put the Reckoner Knight Armor and an explosive Chakram Launcher in Commander Shepard’s locker on the Normandy.

The Mass Effect 3 demo magicks a medievalised set of N7 armour and Omniblade Daggers into the world of Amalur.

Both lots of gear were designed by Spawn creator and Reckoning executive art director Todd McFarlane, so they’re about as gratuitously spiky and intimidating as you’d expect.

The Reckoning demo is out on 17 January 2012, and the Mass Effect 3 demo is due to launch “sometime” this month (January 2012).

This is awesome! Can’t wait for Amalur or Mass Effect 3 xD

If this was Craptivision they would’ve charged you for the next demo of COD and given you 1$ discount if you played the previous COD and bought all the DLC for it.
