The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences has announced the shortlist for its award nominations in 2011. Often referred to as “the Oscars” for video games, the AIAS awards are among the more respected accolades which video games can achieve.
This year obvious candidates such as Portal 2, Batman: Arkham City, Skyrim and The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword have been shortlisted for the Game of the Year 2011 title. Portal 2 has been nominated for 10 awards, making it the most nominated game of 2011.
The awards ceremony will take place on 9 February in LA during the D.I.C.E Summit event.
