Rockstar hiring artists to “get the most from next-gen consoles”

In news that’s no doubt going to set off another bunch of rumours about Microsoft and Sony revealing new consoles at E3, Rockstar has posted a job vacancy for a “next-gen console” project in development at its Edinburgh studio.

“You will be designing, building and texturing the world, have the technical knowledge to achieve great looking results and the skill to get the most from next-gen consoles,” reads the ad.

Rockstar North has previously been the lead development studio for the Grand Theft Auto series, including GTA III, GTA: Vice City, GTA: San Andreas, and GTA IV, as well as the recently-announced GTA V.

It’s not yet confirmed whether GTA V would be going out this generation or the next, but the studio started recruiting testers for the game earlier this month, suggesting it’s already quite a way into development.

Or maybe the HR people over at Rockstar North are still referring to this generation of consoles as “the next generation”. Lots of people still do, for some reason.
