I’m sure by now at least four people have hit the max rank 100 in Gears of War 3, and feel like there’s no point going on because there’s nothing left to do – well, now there is!
The latest DLC add-on, Fenix Rising, introduces a new “Re-up” system, that’ll bump you all the way back down to rank 1 and give you a pretty coloured badge to show for it.
When you’re back up to rank 100, you can do it all over again – twice. If that’s not its own reward, there’s also an Achievement for it.
The DLC also bundles five maps – Academy, Anvil, Depths, the Slab, and the original Gears of War’s Escalation – as well as four new characters, including Recruit Clayton, Savage Marauder, Savage Kantus, and Thrashball Cole, for Horde and Versus modes.
That empty slot in the Beast unit roster (LambentDrudgeLambentDrudgeLambentDrudge) remains however, sadly empty. Maybe next time.
Fenix Rising is included in the Season Pass, or available separately for 800 MSP.
