In this, the latest tech video released by Rockstar for Max Payne 3, on full display is how much effort and detail was put into the game to make it look…really damn awesome, actually.
According to the handy VO guy on the video, it seems Rockstar’s aim (lol) is to integrate the precision found in first-person shooters into a third-person perspective.
From the visual flow presented, it looks pretty legit – though admittedly, my internal alarm bells go off regarding how that will translate onto consoles.
Max Payne and Max Payne 2 were a pleasure to control on PC back in the day – let’s hope the console transition goes off just as smoothly.
Weapons will carry their own weight, and affect Max differently in motion – with Max reacting realistically to the different recoils and shapes of guns, even while dual-wielding contrasting weapon-types.
All in all, this is looking very much like the Max Payne we all loved – only so much more, and that excites us.
Max Payne 3’s release has been pushed back, and now has a May 2012 release date; check out the tech demo below.
