First MW3 DLC drops for premium Elite subscribers on Xbox LIVE

Activision has deployed the first of a series of planned “content drops” for Call of Duty Elite’s premium subscribers, with the launch of two new versus multiplayer / survival maps on Xbox LIVE.

The maps include the snipey-snipey-sniper Liberation and the Italian seaside Piazza.

The publisher has not yet confirmed when the maps will be released for PS3 premium Elite subscribers, although they’re expected at a “later time”.

The maps will also be available to purchase for non-premium Elite subscribers sometime in March.

“The Modern Warfare 3 Content Season for Call of Duty Elite will include a broader variety than ever, with brand new multiplayer maps, Special Ops Missions, new game modes and more,” a press release announced earlier this month.

“All content drops for Call of Duty Elite premium members will occur once a month, starting in January for Xbox Live users, and will continue through the year, ending in September. During the first three months of 2012, Activision will release five different content drops on three occasions in January, February and March, first on Xbox Live, followed by additional platforms at a later time.”
