Rumour control: Silent Hill HD Collection coming to PSN / XBLA?

27 January 2012

The Silent Hill HD Collection will finally be crawling, gasping and bloodied, into shops this March, but it looks like it might also be going out on the PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade.

Maybe this is Konami’s way of making up for the delays.

The rumour comes via Siliconera’s web spies, who spotted separate PEGI ratings for Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3, the two games included in the HD set. While the entries may not seem immediately significant, Konami’s previous Metal Gear Solid HD Collection was also later split up and released on PSN as three standalone titles, with XBLA releases scheduled later this year.

Inexplicably, the PEGI entries show the release dates as 26 January, but then in Silent Hill, nothing is ever as it seems.

Cue dramatic music with a speculative minor key change.

Both Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 have been all next-genned up with new visuals and voice work.
