Another week, another story about the next generation of consoles.
In this edition of The Future Today! Sony‘s France boss, Philippe Cardone, says that the company will most likely follow the previous generation’s events and be the last to announce their next-gen plans.
Why? Because Sony were last out the door last time, which means their console is technically newer, or something.
Picture this being said in a smug, French accent:
“Wii is pressed for time because it’s in decline. In our case, we have a lot less pressure. We were the last to release PS3, and we will probably be the last to announce something [this time around],” said Cardone.
Rumours were flying around earlier this month about an E3 announcement for the next-gen PlayStation, but Sony boss, Kaz Hirai was quick to shoot those down, as well, saying that the plan was always to make the PlayStation 3 a 10-year console.
10 years ends in 2016, by the way. I expect we’ll hear something sooner than that, though.

Predicting a PS will be already in development (only hush-hush) and that it will hit the shelves in Q4 2014 or Q1 2015?? Lets see if I predict right…. 😛
