It’s a double-header for Call of Duty fans this year, with the release of the next big Call of Duty game (all but confirmed to be Black Ops 2, developed by Treyarch), as well as a release for the PS Vita, which Activision have now announced will be coming in autumn (in the Northern Hemisphere).
No details yet on the game itself, or even what game it is; it is unknown at this point if this is an all new game or just a port of an older Call of Duty game. Either way, it’ll likely sell a bajillion copies.
This wasn’t so much an official announcement as a casual remark in an interview with GameTrailers, SCEA’s new SVP of Playstation brand marketing, Guy Longworth, said that his teenage sons are “looking forward to Call of Duty in autumn.”
“Of course in the autumn, they’re really looking forward to Call of Duty on Vita,” he said, adding, “and we think that’s going to be an absolute game-changer for the platform.”
That’s all we know at this point, Longworth won’t even tell us the name (which admittedly would tell us a lot).
