Terraria gets its final official patch

As we reported yesterday, Terraria creator Redgit has announced his plans to move on, saying that he wants to spend time with his family and also “recharging and bettering myself as both a programmer and game designer.”

This means that he will no longer be supporting his indie sandbox hit with updates and content.

The last update has officially gone live, and should be the last official update we see for the game.

“I have learned a lot from working on Terraria and plan on using what I’ve learned, building upon it, and moving forward with another, even better project,” said Redgit.

That is not to say that the game will not continue to evolve, and the modding community will likely continue mixing things up.

Also, Gaslamp Games has offered to take over Terraria support, so we will have to wait and see if anything comes of that.
