PS3 gamers who like free stuff will be thrilled to know that from next week Killzone 3’s multiplayer component will be available as a free download on the PlayStation Network.
Unless you already own Killzone 3, obviously – in which case you’ll probably be miffed you had to pay for it and now everybody else is getting it for nothing. The ciiiircle of liiiiife.
The news comes via Sony’s latest blogcast, confirming that the game will be out next Tuesday, 28 February in Americaland, and presumably everywhere else the day after that, to “keep that multiplayer mode out there and active”.
And, yes, of course there’s just a bit of a catch. Although the standalone multiplayer game will include all of the full version’s maps, an as yet unspecified level cap will be imposed on free players, as well as restrictions on unlockable skills and gear.
To get all of that stuff, you’ll have to put down $15 (about R120).
