Rockstar has announced that the PC version of Max Payne 3 is not a port, and that it will support PC exclusive features such as DirectX 11.
“We’re proud to say that Max Payne 3 will support DirectX 11 features including tessellation,” reads an excerpt from a fact sheet released by RockStar.
“This means a higher frame rate, greater visual fidelity, precision mouse and keyboard controls, a full suite of customisable visual and control settings, and optional 3D functionality for an even greater sense of immersion.”
Rockstar has also promised that the game will run smoothly on “a vast range of hardware configurations.”
Hopefully this means that gamers with high-end PCs will be able to enjoy cutting edge, PC optimized visuals, while those with more modest hardware will still be able to play the game.
Max Payne 3 will be released on console on 18 May, while PC gamers will have to wait until 1 June.
