MyGaming weekly roundup (19 – 23 March 2012)

23 March 2012

So the week has come and gone – you probably missed it because of that public holiday that dropped in the middle and threw everyone off. But just because we had a little breather, by no means did the gaming industry’s cogs stop turning – so check out these articles that you may have skipped over while catching up sleep this week:

Baldur’s Gate has plans

If you thought last week’s Baldur’s Gate Enhanced news was wonderful – then you’ll be really happy that things just keep getting better for the series; a move to touch-portable, and maybe a sequel sometime in the future is on the cards.

Kicking it Forward with Kickstarter

Brian Fargo is a nice guy, and he wants to give other projects a taste of the Kickstarter joy he’s received – so he’s giving back with his own initiative.

MINECRAFT MINECRAFT MINECRAFT

Notch’s pervasive world builder/manager/destroyer finally has a solid Xbox Live Arcade release date, and it’s all-round looking like something to love all over again. Notch also doesn’t like DRM much, but then, who does?

Games kill things

If used games aren’t killing the industry in some way, or online games aren’t being used in terrorist plots – then someone is using games as an excuse to do some killing on the side. Maybe mother was right, games ARE dangerous…or maybe people just aren’t very bright.

Mass Effect 3 is still a thing

Don’t expect Mass Effect 3 buzz to die out any time soon – at first it was gamers raging at the ending, then other gamers started raging about gamers raging about the ending; now gamers are raging about all the raging and poor BioWare just wants everyone to get along.

Speaking of BioWare

Of course, BioWare isn’t all about Mass Effect – there was that other game series that got a bit of backlash, Dragon Age II, and now BioWare are mulling over the future of that series – meanwhile, back in reality, a few former BioWare employees are working on something completely different…
